Single Defense is very important since you obviosuly can't be offensive in all areas. Having a solid defense will bring you a lot of confidence and calmness to your game. The greater the defense the more easy it will be for you to reset the rally.
This last exercise is where we try to combine all previous exercises. You will have to defend yourself from various attack and do perfect footwork along the way. Trying to find the best solutions with your stroke preference while trying to make as few mistakes possible. Adjustments can be made to make it more suitable for the player. Etc.: feeders are not allowed to smash cross court, which gives the player time to focus on straight shots. Also feeders can stand side by side. This often result in the rally being more open.
This type of exercise is also a key for single players. Make sure to incorporate it to your practise routines.
