When champion Australian sprinter Black Caviar lined up for her 23rd start in the G1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington for trainer Peter Moody and jockey Luke Nolen, she wasn't only looking for her third victory in the race.
She was also aiming to win a race that had been renamed the Black Caviar Lightning in her honour at her first start since an arduous trip to the other side of the world.
The result? A track record performance that still exists over the Flemington 1000 metres to this day!
