As of this post, Belmonte has bowled in 61 PBA major championship tournaments throughout his career. He's finished in the top five in 32 of those events and bowled for the title in 19. He has a 14-5 record in the championship match. Here are the five times he finished second: the 2012-2013 PBA World Championship to Parker Bohn III, the 2013 PBA Tournament of Champions to Pete Weber (who tied Earl Anthony for a then-record 10th major title), the 2013 U.S. Open to Wes Malott, the 2018 PBA Players Championship to Tom Smallwood and 2019 PBA Players Championship to Anthony Simonsen.
