Dick Allen built a nearly insurmountable lead with a strike in the 9th frame. François Lavoie overcame an early open frame with seven strikes in a row against Norm Duke. Marshall Kent came up in the 10th with a chance to defeat Chris Via. Tommy Jones rolled the back four strikes to force Jakob Butturff to get all three strikes in the 10th to win, which he did.
