How do you capture that perfect image?

World-renowned national geographic photographer, Michele Ardu, has taken some of the most incredible thoroughbred horse racing images of all time at events such as Royal Ascot.

We caught up with him at The 2021 Saudi Cup, and spoke to him about how he catches such beautiful imagery.

SAUDI CUP 2021: THE WORLD’S MOST VALUABLE HORSE RACE

Saudi Arabia first opened the gates to the international horse racing community in 2020, when Maximum Security powered to victory at King Abdulaziz Racetrack to take the $10 Million USD winner's purse in the inaugural running of The Saudi Cup.

This year, Prix du Jockey Club winner Mishriff runner-up in the Saudi Derby at this meeting in 2020, came from a wide draw to overturn Bob Baffert's Charlatan under 21-year-old jockey David Egan.

British female rider Hollie Doyle became the first female rider to ride a winner at the Saudi Cup meeting when she formed an alliance with Irish jumps supremo Willie Mullins and True Self.
