The 42 year old Romero enters the ring as a giant underdog. Adesanya is looking to prove himself in a match up with a larger fighter. Israel Adesanya enters the fight with an 18-0 record while Yoel Romero comes in with a 13-4 record.

Round 1
Both fighters slowly enter the center of the octagon and Romero Immediately went into a high guard and just stood in the center of the ring. Romero bounced in and out of the center of the ring and there was zero action. Romero didn’t throw a single punch until there was 2:40 left in the round.

1-0 Romero I guess. he landed 1 more shot than Adesanya did

Round 2
Adesanya gets caught on the inside and Romero is able to land a big left hook. Adesanya immediately bounces out of range and is back to trying to work from the outside.

Romero is later able to pin Adesanya up against the cage and land several big punches.

Round 3
Adesanya is throwing from the outside and landing. Adesanya has found his range and landed several punches and kicks from the outside

2-1 Adesanya

Round 4 opens with Adesanya landing from the outside. Romero gets poked in the eye midway through the round and there is a stop in the action. After the brief stoppage, Romero comes out and bull rushes Adesanya but with no luck.

Adesanya wins the round. I have it 2-2 after 4.

The leg of Romero is banged up and it looks very swollen.

Round 5

I scored round 5 for Israel Adesanya but he didn’t do much more than romero. Pretty lack luster type of fight and not a lot of action. Romero couldn’t get Israel to the ground at all in this fight and because of that, I think Israel won the fight.

Also, the legs of Romero looked awful and were brutally beat up.
