Memo Rodriguez scored twice for Houston in the first half, giving Tab Ramos' side the lead despite Bradley Wright-Phillips scoring for Los Angeles on his debut for the club. Honduras star Alberth Elis added a third for the Dynamo just before halftime, but Houston relented in the second half, as Rossi and Rodriguez scored six minutes apart.
