It was the news all Liverpool fans dreaded overnight. Centre-back Joe Gomez is set to miss a “significant” part of the season with a knee injury, leaving the Reds in a genuine crisis at the back. ESPN FC’s Steve Nicol is at a loss at how they’re going to survive without Gomez and Virgil van Dijk, and insists the club should go all out to sign RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano in the January transfer window.
