Manchester City have announced that they will erect a statue of David Silva outside the Etihad stadium as a tribute to the player as he leaves after 10 years at the club. ESPN FC’s Mark Ogden says it’s “ridiculous” the club’s hierarchy have made this decision, and points out the club wasn’t just formed in 2008 and already have a proud history.
