Secretariat is widely regarded as the greatest racehorse in the history of American thoroughbred racing.

In 1973, Secretariat became the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years, when he won the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes. He earned the nickname 'Big Red' and was ranked 35th on ESPN’s 100 Greatest Athletes of the Twentieth Century, whilst Disney created a film about his life in 2010.

His legacy lives on - meet his last two remaining direct descendants.
