In the opening round of the 2022 John Deere Classic, Morgan Hoffmann's second from a buried bunker lie hits him in the hat and rolls back into the bunker. He then hits the flagstick with his third, nearly holing it for par, but ends up with a bogey at the par-3 16th hole.

The PGA TOUR heads back to TPC Deere Run for the 2022 John Deere Classic in the Quad Cities area of Iowa and Illinois. Reigning champion Lucas Glover will look to become the first to successfully defend his title at the Deere since Steve Stricker a decade ago. The tournament will once again be part of the Open Championship Qualifying Series and there are three spots up for grabs. PLAYERS Championship winners Jason Day and Webb Simpson headline the field. Day has finished T3 twice this season and will be looking to claim his first PGA TOUR title since winning the Farmers Insurance Open in 2018. Despite struggling to find his form this season, Simpson finished T13 at the Travelers Championship last week.
