Our verdict on the Charles Leclerc French GP crash conspiracy theory

Charles Leclerc’s brief reference to a problem with the throttle in his Ferrari led to wild and unsubstantiated conspiracy theories about his crash out of the lead of the French Grand Prix.
Leclerc threw away a potential win at Paul Ricard when he spun 360 degrees before nosing into the wall at the long Beausset right-hander.
He took the blame for the mistake post-race and was highly critical of himself, but some F1 fans and pundits suggested there was more to the incident than met the eye.
