In his extraordinary career, thoroughbred horse racing jockey Kieren Fallon won almost everything but not once did he manage to put his name on the Darley July Cup. His son, also a jockey, Cieren can tell him how it's done.

Fallon guided Oxted to a famous success in Europe's premier sprint at Newmarket Racecourse, delighting trainer Roger Teal, who joined the triumphant jockey in experiencing a Group 1 victory for the first time.

For former amateur jockey Teal, based in Lambourn's Windsor House Stables this was a family celebration, as wife, Sue, is Oxted's groom and son, Harry, rides the horse most mornings.

Oxted is set to switch to dirt for the first time when he runs at the Saudi Cup meeting in February 2020.
Organised by the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia and run at the King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Riyadh, the Saudi Cup is a two-day festival of international horse racing headlined by the USD$20m Saudi Cup – the world’s most valuable race.
The Riyadh Dirt Sprint over 6F first run in 2020 saw New York Central hold off Japan’s Matera Sky, while the inaugural running of the Saudi Cup was claimed by Maximum Security and Luis Saez.
