Early extension makes it difficult to create space and return the club to the ball consistently. Practicing from slightly closer to the ball with a simple station encourages the hips to move back and stay out of the way. If you early extend from this setup, contact becomes almost impossible — which helps train the correct movement quickly.

If your iron shots are inconsistent — thin one swing and fat the next — your arm connection and posture could be the reason. In this lesson, Dan was losing up to 4 inches of height and letting his arms splay out, creating a “chicken wing” and leading to poor contact. We used a simple drill to shorten his through swing and keep the arms closer and more extended — just like Tommy Fleetwood. The result? Better compression, a more stable posture, and pure strikes.

If your driver shots are low, weak, inconsistent, or difficult to strike well, the problem may start before the swing even begins.
In this lesson, Piers works with Greg, a very relatable golfer who was struggling to get the ball in the air and create any real distance with his driver. Like so many players, the issues in the swing were really a series of compensations, but the first thing that needed changing was much simpler than that.
Greg’s shaft angle at address was too far forward, which was affecting the clubface and contributing to the poor strike patterns, low flight, and lack of distance. Once that setup changed, everything else started to improve.
In this video, you’ll learn:

- how the shaft position at setup can influence your driver ball flight
- the simple check you can make in seconds before you hit a drive
- how better setup can help you launch the ball higher and carry it further

Starting the day five shots off the lead, Sterne carded a final round of 66 whilst producing one of the shots of his life to secure his seventh DP World Tour title, snatching victory from fellow South African Zander Lombard.

Sterne’s previous DP World Tour victory came at the 2013 Joburg Open, where he held off the likes of Brooks Koepka and Tommy Fleetwood in Johannesburg.
