Sean O'Malley suspended after UFC 252. A five-round battle between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier settled their three-year rivalry but neither heavyweight left UFC 252 unscathed.

On Monday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission revealed the medical suspensions from the card after Miocic bested Cormier by unanimous decision to close out the trilogy.

After suffering a brutal eye poke during the fight, Cormier later commented that he was unable to see for much of the final two rounds. He reportedly suffered a torn cornea as a result and while Cormier has all but confirmed his retirement from the sport, he’ll face a potentially lengthy suspension if he decides to compete again.

Cormier must have his left eye cleared by an ophthalmologist or he will be suspended for six months until Feb. 12, 2021.

Miocic must also get checked out by an eye specialist after he suffered an eye poke earlier in the fight as well. Following their rematch in 2019, Miocic had to undergo a surgery to repair a torn retina due to eye pokes prior to his fourth-round TKO win over Cormier.

Miocic has to see a retinal specialist now to get clearance on his left eye before he will be cleared to compete again.

Meanwhile, Sean O’Malley also faces a potentially lengthy suspension after he suffered a leg injury during his fight with Marlon “Chito” Vera. Barely two minutes into the fight, O’Malley began favoring his right leg and replays appeared to show Vera connecting with a kick that may have done the damage.

Either way, O’Malley was noticeably limping on the leg until he finally fell to the floor where Vera finished him with strikes before the opening round expired.

Now the rising bantamweight star will have to get clearance from an orthopedic doctor on his right ankle or he will be suspended for six months until Feb. 12. 2021.
