Of the four biggest playoff upsets in the history of Major League Baseball, two have come at the expense of the winningest teams in MLB history (the 1906 Cubs and 2001 Mariners); the other two have come at the expense of the Los Angeles Dodgers…and BOTH occurred in the last TWO years! The only thing that could make that statement any crazier is following it up with the (also true) statement that the playoff collapses of the 2021 and 2022 Dodgers are a drop in the bucket compared to the ten-year stretch of disappointment the franchise has suffered since 2013.
