Nobody had seen anything quite like it: the most ridiculous, and early-starting, driver market that even F1's most experienced driver managers and team bosses could remember.

An absurdly long-running saga to set the 2025 grid finally came to an end in December - 323 days after it started - when Red Bull confirmed Sergio Perez would be replaced by Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar got promoted to a Racing Bulls seat.

It means that this year, HALF the grid is changing, 12 months on from the line-up staying the same from the end of one season to the start of the next for the first time ever!

And, remarkably, the full story might yet have a post-script, several races into the 2025 season.
