The DP World Tour makes its first visit of the season to Germany this week for the 40th edition of the Porsche European Open. Kalle Samooja returns to defend his title and is joined in the field by a host of Ryder Cup hopefuls including Victor Perez, Robert MacIntyre and Rasmus Højgaard, along with in-form home favourites Marcel Siem and Yannik Paul. Højgaard arrives in Germany off the back of a tie for the third at the KLM Open - his best result of an injury-interupted season so far. After the disappointment of having to miss the Hero Cup and first Rolex Series event of the campaign in Abu Dhabi, he bounced back with three consecutive top 20s, including a tie for sixth at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship. Deon Germishuys was the man who finished alongside Højgaard in the Netherlands as he secured his best finish yet in a highly successful debut season. After securing the 20th and final card available from last season's Road to Mallorca, he made a steady start to his DP World Tour career before sealing a maiden top ten at the ISPS HANDA - CHAMPIONSHIP. He then followed that with a tie for 15th at the Soudal Open and won U.S. Open Qualifying.
