Trainer Tom Clover is hopeful his star stayer Al Nayyir will be "there or thereabouts" in the Group 2 Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup at Ascot on Saturday.

The 6yo, who was last seen winning the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes at Newmarket by an impressive eight lengths, will take on the likes of Kyprios and last year's winner Trawlerman in Saturday's opener.
