D.C. United was the 1st dynasty in MLS, however the District’s soccer roots go back much further than 1996 and have long been tied to Civil Rights.

Dubbed “Chocolate City”, at one point, D.C.’s population was over 70% African-American. The Movement delves into the stories of Black Broadway, the legendary Howard University men’s soccer team, and the growth of the beautiful game in D.C.

Calen Carr, the host of The Movement, is a former MLS forward for the Houston Dynamo and Chicago Fire.
