Chris Barnes of the United States defeated two opponents to claim the men's title in the 50th edition of the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup Sunday, Nov. 9 at Sky Bowling Center in Wroclaw, Poland. Entering the stepladder finals in best-of-three games format as the No. 3 qualifier, the six-time World Champion and 17-PBA titlist won his best-of-three-game semifinal match against Ukraine's Mykhaylo Kalika, 215-204, 300-219 and then swept top qualifier Tobias Börding of Germany, 269-248, 231-216 for the title. Barnes joined wife Lynda Barnes (2005) as the first husband-wife duo to win World Cup titles.
