The fallout following Portugal's 2-2 draw vs. Serbia continues, but this time VAR takes centre stage with its importance to the modern game under the microscope. ESPN FC's Don Hutchison, Steve Nicol, Shaka Hislop and Julien Laurens debate whether or not video assistant referee technology has enhanced the game. Hutchison and Hislop believe VAR is still in its infancy and there will be errors, but mistakes such as the goal-line decision that went against Portugal will cease to repeat themselves with VAR in place. Nicol adds that VAR gets more "right than wrong" and would like to see the laws of the game updated further to help officials behind the camera make the right call.
