The sun is now destined to rise over Formula 1’s 2020 season at Austria’s Red Bull Ring, with the action set to kick-off from July 3-5, bringing an end to the sport’s longest break in the modern era - more than seven months, due to the COVID-19 crisis.
And that time away from the track has seen - not just the teams’ adapting their state-of-the-art facilities to rapidly produce ventilators and breathing aids in the fight against the pandemic. But, ultimately, the rise of Esports, which has smashed misconceptions as it’s filled in for live sport- according to Codemasters’ F1 Franchise Game Director Lee Mather, who spoke exclusively with The Inside Line.
