The Munich team's tenth straight Bundesliga win was the next step towards the title. In an intense game, Joshua Zirkzee, in for the suspended Robert Lewandowski, opened the scoring, before Bayern defender Benjamin Pavard gifted Gladbach the equaliser courtesy of an own goal. Keepers Yann Sommer and Manuel Neuer showed their class time and again. Four minutes from time, Germany international Leon Goretzka scored the winner.
