Each year, the Colonial Downs Racetrack in Virginia, America holds a controlled burn to help prepare and nurture its horse racing surface for the season ahead.

The Turf Course is named after Virginian-born Triple Crown hero Secretariat, who conquered the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes in 1973, becoming the first horse in 25 years to win America's Triple Crown.
