On this episode of Quick Question, we explore bobbleheads! Bobbleheads are a mainstay in the ballpark giveaway world, but how did it start becoming a thing?? The figurines were popular in the 1960s, and then fell out in the 70s. Then, the San Francisco Giants brought them back for a ballpark giveaway to commemorate Candlestick Park in 1999. Once that happened, the bobblehead movement was back in MLB and hasn’t looked back since. Now it’s permeated into other sports and pop culture, with The Office and Game of Thrones characters having their own bobbles too! All while starting to look more realistic and like the people they represent.
