To create real spin, you need the right mix of loft, speed, and strike. In this video we show why hitting low on the face — between grooves two and five — is where spin is created, not high on the club. By opening the face slightly and brushing the turf just before the ball, you give yourself a better chance to strike it with loft and friction. When you keep the shot low with the right contact, the ball will grab and check much faster.
