She also won the Japan Cup in 2012, beating Orfevre, Solemia and Rulership, when partnered by Yasunari Iwata.

This year, Ryan Moore partners Broome in the race, taking on Japanese Triple Crown winner Contrail as well as Derby winners Shahryar, Makahiki and Wagnerian, and international contenders Grand Glory and Japan, who will be ridden by Yutaka Take.

Previous winners of the race include Almond Eye, Gentildonna, Suave Richard, Singspiel, Vodka, Screen Hero, El Condor Pasa, Epiphaneia and Kitasan Black.

This year's edition of the Japan Cup takes place on Sunday 28th November at Tokyo Racecourse.
