Ice Drag Racing at the Merrill Ice Drags in Merrill Wisconsin. This drag racing takes place on Frozen Lake Alexander in Merrill, Wisconsin and is always in the deep part of winter at the end of January and the first part of February so the ice is nice and thick. The ice conditions were over 20 inches this day and the temperature was in the mid 20's.
Ice Drags in Merrill has a long history in this same location as they have been racing there since 1965. The regular racing season ends usually in October in Wisconsin and starts again in April or May considering it can snow anytime in-between those months of our winter time. So instead of stopping the racing action they decided to get out and have fun on the ice and keep the party going.
