Russian racers - like Nikita Mazepin - are a recent addition to Formula One, with 2021 marking 11 years since the first joined the grid.

The Vyborg-rocket Vitaly Petrov, who made his F1 debut with Renault at the season-opening 2010 Bahrain Grand Prix. Petrov was followed by Red Bull protégé Daniil Kvyat, who experienced the highs, and lows, of the sport, Sergey Sirotkin - who had just a single season with Williams in 2018 at its lowest ebb - and Mazepin.
