Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez gets off the mark with his first goal in Major League Soccer, but his missed penalty in the first half proves costly, as LA Galaxy fall 2-1 to the Portland Timbers in the MLS is Back Tournament. Sebastian Blanco sparked the Timbers to victory, scoring the winning goal after providing the assist on the opener from Jeremy Ebobisse. Chicharito had a chance to put the Galaxy ahead early in the first half, but his penalty kick was saved by Steve Clark. The win gives Portland control of Group F after LAFC and Houston Dynamo played to a 3-3 draw earlier in the night.
