Max Verstappen vs Charles Leclerc: How F1's next mega rivalry has burst into life

The 2021 Formula 1 world title fight between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton was meant to be a once-in-a-generation occurrence: two world class drivers in equally matched cars going wheel-to-wheel seemingly race after race.

Now we’re only two races into the 2022 season, and it’s happening again. But this time Verstappen’s foe is Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc.

For the second race running Verstappen and Leclerc went toe to toe for victory, trading the lead and playing games with each other in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. And this time the reigning champion came out on top - by just half a second.

Unlike Verstappen and Hamilton, these two haven’t collided yet. But just like it felt early in 2021, is it only a matter of time?
