In the championship match of the 1994 True Value Open, Norm Duke rolled 11 strikes, only missing in the second frame, and finished with 280. Bryan Goebel came up in the 10th frame perfect through nine frames, needing at least the first strike in the 10th to win but needing all three strikes for a $200,000 bonus from tournament sponsor True Value.
