Real Madrid are held to a 1-1 draw by Villarreal, after Mariano’s opener was cancelled out by Gerard Moreno’s penalty. Missing a number of key players, including Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos and Casemiro, Janusz Michallik says Zinedine Zidane’s men can be happy with a point and the fight they showed to earn it. However, Michallik does point the finger at Thibaut Courtois for his part in Villarreal’s equaliser.
Occupying second place in La Liga, Villarreal earn plenty of praise from Michallik, who credits Unai Emery for building an exciting and attacking team, something he couldn’t manage at Arsenal.
