It’s the 20-year anniversary of the most infamous drop goal in Super Rugby history!
In the Waratahs final game of the 2003 season, they needed to beat the Chiefs by two tries to advance to the semi-finals. With a penalty advantage, Dunning hacked a drop goal so that the Waratahs could take the penalty advantage and press for a try. He struck the kick too well and it went over, denying the Waratahs a chance to score a try. The Tahs ended up winning 25-14 but missed out on the semifinals.
