Vela Azul ヴェラアズール wins the 2022 Japan Cup at Tokyo Racecourse for trainer Kunihiko Watanabe with jockey Ryan Moore on top.

ヴェラアズール、 ジャパンカップで優勝!

The 5-year-old is by Eishin Flash out of Vela Blanca. The late-bloomer only switched to the turf earlier this year but won the G2 Kyoto Daishoten as a step up to the Japan Cup. Jockey Ryan Moore recorded a 2nd Japan Cup victory, having won it on Gentildonna in 2013.
