Von Miller trade to the Rams is official. Von Miller woke up to find out that he, Von Miller traded to the Rams. The Los Angeles Rams are adding another marquee player to their star-studded roster.
The Rams are finalizing a trade to acquire eight-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Von Miller from the Denver Broncos, Miller's agent confirmed. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Broncos would receive second- and third-round picks in 2022 in return.
Miller would join three-time NFL defensive player of the year Aaron Donald to give the Rams one of the most accomplished pass-rushing tandems in league history.
Selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft out of Texas A&M, Miller became an instant phenom for the Broncos. He was selected as Super Bowl MVP in the 2015 season, leading the franchise to its third title with a win over the Carolina Panthers. He exits as the organization's all-time leader in sacks with 110 ½, a figure that ranks best among all active players.
"Seeing the pictures when I walked out (of the team facility), it made me tear up," Miller said Monday in an interview with Denver ABC reporter Troy Renck. But we always have Super Bowl 50, always got Broncos country."
Miller, who is in the final year of his contract, was inactive for the Broncos' win over the Washington Football Team on Sunday with an ankle injury. He said Monday, however, he was healthy enough to have played if the team had permitted him to do so.
Denver started the season 3-0 and but lost four straight before ending its skid.
The Rams, meanwhile, are tied for the NFL's best record at 7-1 and are poised to make another sizable splash after adding the likes of quarterback Matthew Stafford and cornerback Jalen Ramsey via trades in recent years.
