What we learned from F1’s return after 102 days away

A Formula 1 car took to the track for the first time since the end of pre-season testing when Mercedes ran a 2018 car at Silverstone for Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. The test was to get the team used to the new protocols in place for the delayed start to the season in Austria, and it gave us a first look at some of the differences we’ll see when racing resumes. In this video Scott Mitchell looks at the pointers we got from Mercedes’ outing, how the team adapted to the changes, and what its rivals will be up to between now and the season kicking off in early July
