Alpine’s latest roll of the driver line-up dice could bring Valtteri Bottas back onto the F1 grid in the middle of the 2025 season in place of Franco Colapinto.

The Race has learned that Alpine's executive advisor Flavio Briatore, who is currently its de facto team principal, has approached Mercedes to discuss the potential availability of its hugely experienced grand prix winning reserve driver.
