Formula 1’s off-track controversies show no sign of abating in 2024. What’s more, the string of negative headlines has exposed F1’s lack of leadership at a time when it’s under fire on and off track.

The latest big story is F1 Academy managing director Susie Wolff filing a criminal complaint in France against the FIA.

With F1 constantly grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons in 2024, the lack of leadership has been shockingly exposed in recent months.

That’s not just a criticism of FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem. F1 is effectively run by a combination of the FIA as the regulator and commercial rights holder Liberty Media.

Amid all of this, Formula 1 Group CEO Stefano Domenicali has also been conspicuous by his absence when it comes to tackling F1's various controversies.
