Australian teen Trew made history in 2023 as the first woman to land a 720 on a skateboard (at Vert Alert), then the first woman to land the trick in a competition run, for walk-Skateboard Vert gold at XG California 2023. Following it with Skateboard Park gold the next day made her the youngest to win 2 gold at 1 X Games (age 13 years, 2 months, breaking Shaun White's record from XG Aspen 2003 at age 16 years, 4 months). Those achievements helped her earn the 2024 Laureus World Sports Award for Actionsportsperson of the Year. In May 2024 she went on a tear, becoming the first woman to land a 900, a switch McTwist and an eggplant 540. Then she won Vert and Park gold again at XG Ventura 2024, becoming the first woman to successfully defend double gold. Oh, and won the Paris Olympics in August 2024 and the World Skate Vert championship in September 2024.
