This weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix marks a celebrated homecoming for two-time Formula One World Champion Fernando Alonso, with the 39-year-old top gun racing an F1 car on home soil for the first time since 2018, in this - year one of his comeback.

But, it’s going to be something of a muted celebration, not only with the event held behind closed doors - without Alonso’s legion of fans - due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. And with the Spaniard unable to fight at the front, his Renault-powered Alpine A521 still recovering from an undercooked aero package: a result of windtunnel issues over the European winter.
