Watch as the Worlds Fastest Corvette on Ice goes down the frozen drag strip at the Merrill Ice Drags in Merrill Wisconsin.
Ryan Blake is the owner of this Corvette which has a 6.0 liter based LS engine and a 2 speed powerglide transmission. On the first pass in this video he was using the Nitrous system and sprayed a 150 shot to get his car into the 6.59 second 1/8th mile time at 123 mph.
Some quick history on the Merrill Ice Drags, they have been doing it on Lake Alexander near Merrill Wisconsin since 1965 and the inlet bay area they do it in is almost set up perfectly for a drag strip to be layed out on ice for this competition. They always run it in February so the ice is at the thickest (20 + inches) and there is 4 races a year.
