Located in the Horse Capital of the World, Keeneland is an internationally renowned racecourse and the thoroughbred industry’s leading auction house, akin to Tattersalls in Newmarket, UK. Founded in 1936, Keeneland’s mission is to continually invest in the industry and to preserve the tradition of thoroughbred horseracing.

Tradition, beauty and world-class thoroughbreds make Keeneland racing a spectacle to behold. For more than eight decades, the best horses, owners, jockeys and trainers have converged at Keeneland each April and October to compete in "racing as it was meant to be."

As the largest and most prominent Thoroughbred auction house in the world, Keeneland hosts four sales annually in January, April, September and November. Backed by the most trusted and professional auction team in the industry, Keeneland is committed to delivering a world-class selling experience to buyers and sellers.

Keeneland played host the 2020 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, which marked the second running of the event at Keeneland. In 2015 Keeneland hosted the Breeders’ Cup and presented a memorable homecoming for the championships in the heart of the Thoroughbred industry, Triple Crown hero American Pharoah proved to be the headline act.
