ESPN FC's Gab Marcotti and Julien Laurens (The Gab and Juls Show) analyse Barcelona's shocking Spanish Super Cup final defeat to Athletic Bilbao, a game which saw Barca beaten 3-2 after extra time and Lionel Messi sent off.
Messi’s violent conduct earned him his first red card for Barcelona, but Marcotti doesn’t think too much should be read into it, with Laurens suggesting Messi’s tiredness and frustrations got the better of him. Neither Marcotti or Laurens were impressed by Ronald Koeman’s tactics, but feel his position is safe until Barcelona have a new president. On the other hand, Marcotti was full of praise for Athletic Bilbao and especially manager Marcelino García Toral who has impressed since joining the club.
