Walter Ray Williams Jr. opened the 1993 Leisure's Long Island Classic with a win over Robert Lawrence. Williams was one pin from perfection in rolling a 299. Although Williams would win seven titles in 1993 and earn his second career Player of the Year Award, he did not win this event. Williams defeated Mike Aulby before losing to eventual champion Dave Arnold in the semifinal match.
