The DP World Tour season has reached its final sprint as Yas Links hosts the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in the first of two play-off events. Rory McIlroy will be in the field and appears poised to equal the late, great Seve Ballesteros’ haul of six Harry Vardon trophies. He’s claimed eleven top-10s this season including solo victories at the Wells Fargo on the PGA TOUR and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, alongside solo second and T2 finishes at the BMW PGA Championship and Amgen Irish Open. Tommy Fleetwood will also be in action this week. He’s made eight top-10s across the season so far including victory at the Dubai Invitational in January, T3 at The Masters in April and solo second at the Olympics in August. He’s seen success in the past here as well after claiming back-to-back wins at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in 2017 and 2018 and victory at the season-long Race to Dubai in 2017. Justin Rose will also fancy his chances this week. He’s made both of his top tens this season at major championships, claiming 6T at the PGA Championship and 2T at The Open Championship. The Englishman will be looking for his eleventh win on the DP World Tour this week. Others to look out for are Shane Lowry, Robert MacIntyre, Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott.
