The DP World Tour heads to Denmark this week for the Danish Golf Championship at Lübker Golf Resort in Aarhaus. Nicolai Højgaard returns to defend his title on home soil. He defeated Nacho Elvira in a six-hole play-off last year to become the first Danish winner of this event. The World Number 48 is the highest-ranked player in the field and arrives off the back of a productive first full season. After winning last year’s DP World Tour Championship, he achieved a top ten in his next Rolex Series start at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic and finished second at the Farmers Insurance Open the following week. He also claimed 16T at the Masters and finished seventh in Paris at the Olympics two weeks ago. His brother, Rasmus Højgaard, will also be in the field this week. He’s had a strong year on tour so far with seven top-20s including a solo second finish at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship and a 4T finish the KLM Open in June. Tom McKibbin will also be in the field this week. He’ll be looking replicate the form that claimed him back-to-back top-10s at the KLM Open and Italian Open in June. Others to look out for are Yannik Paul, David Ravetto, Marcel Siem and Thomas Bjørn.
