Aston Martin left Bahrain with work to do, given the sport’s opening round confirmed it had fallen back into Formula One’s midfield - with double World Champion Fernando Alonso coming home in ninth, Lance Stroll 10th, for three points and fifth in the constructors’ standings.

It’s a far cry from 2023 when Alonso left Bahrain with a podium, his first of six from the first eight races.
