Among EJ Tackett's five titles on the season was the 20th of his career, earned in the PBA Cheetah Championship. Anthony Simonsen, already the youngest to win one, two, three and four majors, became the youngest to win five majors in the USBC Masters. Kevin McCune won the PBA Players Championship and joined his father, Eugene, and grandfather, Don, as the first three-generation family of champions. Jason Belmonte won the Tournament of Champions for the fourth time, setting an all-time record. It was also his 15th major title, extending his own record. EJ Tackett won the U.S. Open to become the ninth player ever to complete the Triple Crown (U.S. Open, PBA World Championship, PBA Tournament of Champions).
